Nicky & David

Let’s talk about these two – they are just wonderful. From our initial phone call, I knew these were my people. They were chill, had the best vibe, and just so happy to be getting married. Plus, they trusted me completely, which is all you can really hope for as a vendor! Plus, it was just fun chatting with Nicky leading up to their big day.

The Change Up

Nicky & David actually didn’t start out with a Worsell Manor wedding plan. About two months before the day, I received a text from Nicky saying we needed to talk – cue that middle school fear when a friend would say that line to you. We hopped on a call immediately, and I learned that their original venue was shut down. Like, no weddings allowed, and we were a few months away from her big day! Being the total boss that she is, Nicky had already found a replacement venue and just needed to know if the new date options worked with me. Luckily, the date worked, and we ended up at the absolutely beautiful Worsell Manor in Warwick, Maryland.

Some Seriously Awesome Vendors

Worsell Manor is gorgeous. The historic brick house (that George Washington used to stay in when visiting the area), the barn beautiful lights and greenery, and the absolutely stunning grounds. We’re talking fields, flowers, and lines of trees. Plus, I was able to work with the wonderful Olivia, the on-site coordinator and rockstar who made the day flow smoothly. Between her, and the absolutely magical florist (Devon & Pinkett) and bakery (Sweet Melissa), who literally came up the styles, colors, and flavors since Nicky trusts them so implicitly, it was smooth sailing (and quite gorgeous).

Wedding Day!

The wedding day itself was perfection; the weather was in the high 70s (in August!), the flowers were blooming, and everything was set up and ready to go upon arrival. Plus, Nicky and her girls arrived, they got ready in no time flat! Nicky was holding onto a pretty big secret, however: she had told everyone that she was wearing a black dress, but had actually switched to a white one! Only a few people knew, and the hardest thing to do was keep it from her mom and groom. Check out the photos below to see how Mom and David reacted to it. Short synopsis: mom – thrilled. Groom – confused turned joy. Overall, today was about happiness. The happiness of two families joining into one, and two wonderful humans getting their “happily ever after”. I, for one, am honored have been selected to document their day.
